If you’re relatively new to the world of cryptocurrency, your head is probably spinning from the crazy amount of information available. There is a ton of great information out there; the trouble is, too many people do their best to make the entire crypto world seem as complex as possible. It is almost like they don’t want you to invest!
YouTube is a fabulous resource once you know what you’re looking for. In this article, we look at five crypto channels from people who not only know what they’re talking about; they break things down, so the data is as easy to understand as possible.
1 – Data Dash
We like Data Dash because it represents an excellent starting point for anyone interested in cryptocurrency. It is a fast-growing channel with over 101,000 subscribers at the time of writing. The guys at Data Dash pride themselves on using cutting-edge analysis to find global trends and provide their audience with genuinely useful information.
Rather than trying to focus on any one aspect of crypto, Data Dash attempts to operate as a kind of one-stop shop. As a result, you can check out its 35-minute beginner’s guide video to get your feet wet. Once you feel confident enough, you can watch the advanced videos where Nicholas Merten talks you through a variety of Trading Tips and SQL & Data Analytics for Beginners.
Data Dash also posts regular updates which tend to feature Bitcoin news, interviews with important figures in the crypto world and general videos relating to the industry. If you’re intent on making your fortune from cryptocurrency, you simply must watch the Trading Tips section. There are 16 videos at present which tell you how to spot market breakouts and how to avoid basic beginner’s mistakes.
2 – Boxmining
The founder of Boxmining is one of the few YouTube channels with the ability to provide details of how blockchain topics are received all over the world. Boxmining was created in February 2017 and already has more than 86,000 subscribers.
One of the main reasons why you should follow this channel is because the founder doesn’t fall for the hype and is only interested in the facts. When you watch his videos, it’s clear that he has performed an enormous amount of research and we appreciate his ability to break things down into digestible chunks.
As well as giving viewers daily crypto news, he interviews some of the most important people in the industry, and even appears at blockchain events to get the inside scoop. Boxmining is constantly up to date, and we noticed that it featured 11 new videos in the last week alone.
3 – Crypto Investor
The Crypto Investor has racked up an impressive number of followers in a short space of time. He launched his YouTube channel on August 28, 2017, and has over 43,000 subscribers in less than three months. His videos have been viewed almost 1.6 million times.
The Crypto Investor appears to be a legitimate source of good information since he has a finance background where he helped teach fundamental analysis and value investing in the stock market. It is refreshing to see that he acknowledges the difficulties of the crypto market and his goal is to prevent viewers from making foolish emotional decisions.
The vast majority of his videos relate to Bitcoin as he analyses the market to look for any threats to the world’s biggest digital currency. However, he does have an altcoins section where he looks at the lesser-known currencies, and of course, he specialises in market analysis and investing strategy.
4 – Crypto Daily
The guy in charge of Crypto Daily has an exceptional knowledge of the markets, but we like the way he tries to keep everything light-hearted. He is based in the UK and set up the channel in August 2014; to date, he has over 40,000 subscribers.
As well as focusing on all the well-known currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, Crypto Daily zeroes in on lesser-known digital currencies to help you determine whether or not they are a good investment. Some of the best videos include a day in the life of a trader and ‘How I Got and Lost Millions.’
Crypto Daily does a good job in getting important market news relatively early, and he manages to make complex information sound somewhat palatable. Moreover, he puts a great deal of effort into his videos to ensure they are as entertaining as they are informative.
5 – The Chart Guys
The Chart Guys are not as popular as other channels on the list, and we can’t figure out why. It was launched in December 2014, and to date, it has just over 31,000 subscribers. If you haven’t heard of them, we urge you to click on the link and find out more.
They post daily market updates that introduce the basics of technical analysis and help you apply them to cryptocurrency charts. As a result, you are transformed from gambler into an educated trader. Perhaps viewers are put off by the technical-sounding titles of the videos, but when you watch them, everything becomes clear.
Unfortunately, if you want to delve even deeper into The Chart Guys, you’ll have to pay to access extra video lessons, special courses, and a chat room. Maybe that’s why they have relatively few subscribers! After all, you can find loads of free crypto content on YouTube.
Final Thoughts on Crypto YouTubers
It is an unpalatable fact that the crypto world is filled with complete charlatans who have an obsession with making unrealistic gains in little-known coins that have minuscule market caps. Remember, there are hundreds of altcoins on the market; some will earn you a nice ROI while the majority will flounder and take your cash with them.
Also, avoid any YouTube channels that promote things such as BitConnect as they are interested in making money off you, rather than helping you make money. Stick to the five channels above, and you won’t go far wrong.
